Allnic Audio electronics are highly prized by top-tier valve-amplification connoisseurs, though the firm’s products have typically been targeted toward those seeking to assemble very high-performance speaker-based systems—until now. At AXPONA, Allnic showed not one but two very high performance valve-powered headphone amplifiers: the HPA3000, which is a class A single-ended triode desing.
Thought I'd start a thread on this soon to be released transformer coupled triode amp with 6DR7 gain tubes
This amp has two outputs: one for low-impedance (<50 ohms) and one for high-impedance (>200 ohms) headphones. While it is a tube amp, it doesn't have the warm or lush sound that is characteristic of tubes; it is very clear and neutral sounding.
This is the best headphone amp I've heard with the HD800 to date. I've owned and auditioned several other top-tier amps with the HD800, including Bakoon HPA-21 and maxed-out Zana Deux SE, but the HPA-3000 is the clear winner. The HPA-3000 also performs wonderfully with Fostex TH900 on the low impedance output. The amp outputs 3W per channel, so it has enough juice to drive power-hungry orthos as well.
