VITUS AUDIO WITH ESTELON - #5 BEST SOUND AT MOC

Best sound I've ever heard from a Estelon speaker - nice analog and relaxed sound.

ALLUXITY AUDIO WITH STELON

"...Finally, Alfred Vassilkov was also showing his smaller Estelon XB with Ole Vitus?? son's electronics called Alluxity, and though it may not be politically correct to say so the kid??s room was much better than his dad??s. I??ve not heard the XB??s sound better than this. A minor triumph of delicacy and power."

VIVID AUDIO WITH CH PRECISION AND ZENSATI
"...very coherent, balanced and open way. This was both pleasing for the eyes and ears."

".. very good"

PENAUDIO

NAGRA WITH MARTEN DJANGO L AND PURIST AUDIO

NAGRA WITH MARTEN COLTRANE TENOR

"...Marten showed its ?59.9k Coltrane Tenor ceramic-and-diamond-driver three-ways, driven by Nagra electronics. The soundfield on Keb Mo?? and other cuts was huge, very dimensional, boxlessly open, and very fast on transients. The system may have lacked a little image focus but overall it was quite good."

SOULUTION SERIE 700 WITH FOCAL STELLA UTOPIA AND DR. FEICKERT WOODPECKER

"...The extraordinary Swiss electronics company Soulution, whose more affordable 500 Series electronics have so impressed me, introduced its new 700 Series ?110k 701 monoblock amp and ?32.5k 720 preamp paired with Focal??s giant $100k multiway floorstanding Stella Utopia, a personal favorite with what I consider to be the best implementation of a beryllium tweeter. The 700 Series electronics now incorporate an even larger version of the switching power supply that makes the 500 Series so killer-good. The result? Everything from Keb Mo?? to Ravel sounded fabulous. Incredible neutrality, transparency, speed, resolution, and (above all else) realism. A slam-dunk BOS contender at this (or any other show I??ve attended), and some of the most realistic (and powerful) electronics on the market."

ENGELHOLM SOLO M WITH AURIS - #4 BEST SOUND AT MOC

The sound was impressive, nice analog relaxed sound - just the opposite with the very bright sounding Solo with Straussmann.

GAUDER BERLINA RC 11 WITH AVM - #3 BEST SOUND AT MOC

The sound was just outstanding. Gauder used Octave Jubilee before, not the best sound then, with AVM the sound was smoother and more real.

SILTECH SAGA WITH CRYSTAL ARABESQUE - #2 BEST SOUND AT MOC

My second best sound at MOC.
The setup sounded musical, and not bright when played loud.
But not so involving like the Kondo setup.

"...Crystal Cable showed its mono-crystal-wired $100k Absolute Arabesque glass-enclosed loudspeaker, driven by Siltech??s marvelous SAGA System electronics with a dCS digital source. At that point on Day One, this was, by far, the most neutral and realistic system I heard??an impressive demo in a show that had been anything but impressive up till then. Although the Absolute Arabesque was a little light in the bass (despite being coupled, on and off, to an experimental subwoofer), it was so much more natural than anything else it immediately became my first Day One Best of Show contender. Nor did it disappoint later in the show. When I returned on Saturday, the Arabesque/SAGA remained a superb combo with a three-dimensionality that was missing from many other rooms??a sense of air around and behind instrumentalists combined with a shot-silk delicacy of texture."

KONDO AT HIGHEND 2013 - #1 BEST SOUND AT MOC

This full Kondo system was my best sound at MOC. I got chills and was fully involved in the sound.

I was visiting 4 different places - MOC, Hifideluxe, hotel Kempinski and Zellaton showroom.

A lot of bad sounds this year - 95% of the systems at the shows sounded like shit, bright, hifi-like and uninvolving. Some of them reminds me of low-fi sound.

KONDO WITH LIVING VOICE

Kondo Audio Note Japan DAC, M-77 preamplifier and two Gakouh mono blocks.Living Voice Olimpian.

"...There is something in the reproduction of music through Kondo gear that seduce you and goes directly into the vein. It's not the most transparent way of presenting things, but for sure one of the most musical and potent one"

ZELLATON STUDIO REFERENCE ONE - THE BEST SOUND IN MUNICH

Best sound by a clear margin was the Studio Reference One speakers at Zellaton showroom.

I hear it with Vdh Emerald preamp, Analog Domain 80 watt amp section of the not yet released Isis integrated amplifier, LOIT Passeri and Garrard 501 Transcription Reference turntable by L'Art du Son + LYRA Atlas cartridge.

Studio Reference One sound was phenomenal - I easily got chills and was fully involved in the sound. Whatever song that was played the music was analog sounding and relaxed.

Even at a high volume level the sound was the same - no compression or brightness at all - fabulous.

NOLA BABY GRAND REFERENCE

The Baby Grand Reference Gold is an interesting looking loudspeaker. It has two 220 mm magnesium bass transducers which incorporate massive Alnico ring magnets and also incorporate solid copper phase plugs that have been gold-plated. The woofers are housed in a cabinet but the rest of the drivers are open baffle. There are four mid drivers and four ribbon tweeters in the open baffle part of the Baby Grand. The speakers use a Unison three and a half way crossover using silver/gold/oil polypropylene capacitors hand wired on three crossover boards which are mounted internally.

MBL: ONE OF THE BEST SYSTEM ALSO.

SILBATONE

"...they always put together shocking systems... year after year... and to even put *one* together in a year is a huge undertaking... "

"..this year, it is Mirrophonic... you knew it was coming... this is the father of all the modern systems... two way with a break in the lower mids... 300 is teh classic break, it crept up to 800 for later small Altec stuff.... and I think even up to 1500 for some JBL"

".... it is real work to do this... and they do it just to share and teach.."

TIDAL AGORIA SE

KHARMA GRAND EXQUISITE

"......Kharma??s multiway $375k D??Appolito-array Grand Exquisites??now equipped with carbon-fiber (rather than ceramic) drivers and diamond tweeters. Driven by Kharma??s own Class D electronics, the system sounded dull and dynamically strained on La valse, plus the bass (supplied by a pair of Kharma subs) lacked definition. This said, as initially was the case with the Tidals, at moderate levels the presentation was very beautiful in the mids and treble."

LOS PEORES SISTEMAS MOC 2013

YG ACOUSTICS WITH QUALIA ELECTRONICS AND KRONOS TABLE

"..Unhappily for Yoav Geva, Dick Diamond, and YG Acoustics, it was their room that I happened upon first. I really liked YG??s new $100k+ flagship Sonja speakers at CES, where they were driven by D??Agostino Momentum electronics. Here, driven by Qualia electronics and a Kronos ??table, not so much (at least on hour one of Day One). Keb Mo??s voice sounded a little hoarser and more opaque than it usually does, although the timbre of his guitars was attractively rich. Part of the problem was that the top end was a little rolled off, making transients somewhat sluggish and robbing the system of sparkle and life. On Chad Kassem??s new reissue of The Reiner Sound, the Ravel Rapsodie espagnole was dark and lovely, though there was some clipping on tuttis and the bass, while quite respectably good, was not particularly deep (and this is a recording with deep bass). I think the Qualia electronics needed some settling in, because the system sounded quite a bit better (as did everything I heard on Day One) later in the show. By Day Two, for instance, the bass had tightened up with much better definition and impact and tremendous weight and body on big band. Quite an improvement! "

ZETA ZERO - #1 WORST SOUND AT THE SHOW

"....This setup sounded like low-fi noise - the worst sound I've ever heard."

DYNAUDIO EVIDENCE PLATINUM WITH OCTAVE JUBILEE - #2 WORST SOUND AT THE SHOW

"...The Evidence needs amps that has full control of it, the Octave didn't.
On low levels the sound was ok, but on higher levels the sound was just noise."

METRONOME WITH ARTEC AND KHARMA ELEGANCE SPEAKERS - #3 WORST SOUND AT THE SHOW

Very noisy and bright sounding - in short it sounded like shit.

ENGELHOLM SOLO WITH STRAUSSMANN - #4 WORST SOUND AT THE SHOW

"...Very bright sounding this setup."
"...Impossible for me to listen to this setup for longer than 5 minutes - one get listening fatigue in a very short time."

ROSSO FIORENTINA WITH YPSILON - #5 WORST SOUND AT THE SHOW

Florentina price is ?65000.
The sound was bright, unmusical and hifi like.
